2019 Virginia Oral Health Summit Registration

Each year, Virginia Health Catalyst brings together medical and dental providers, health advocates, and community members at the Virginia Oral Health Summit to discuss ways to improve health care access for all Virginians. The 2019 Virginia Oral Health Summit will feature:
- United States Deputy Surgeon General Rear Admiral Erica G. Schwartz will join us to discuss the Surgeon General’s Office national health priorities, as well as the 2020 Surgeon General’s Report on Oral Health.
- Tamara Lucas Copeland is the author of Daughters of the Dream: Eight Girls from Richmond Who Grew Up in the Civil Rights Era and the former president of the Washington Regional Association of Grantmakers, will discuss the intersection of race and health in Virginia.
- Dr. Omar Abubaker is an oral surgeon who has gained national prominence for his efforts to address the opioid epidemic, he will share his expertise on substance use disorder and discuss how attendees can help curb the growing epidemic.
- Dr. Christie Lumsden is an expert in the social determinants of health and will explore the role social determinants of health play in patient care and offer strategies to address them.
For the first time, the summit will include breakout sessions designed to offer you an opportunity to take a deeper dive into specific areas relevant to your work improving health. These sessions will feature panelists from throughout Virginia who are working to improve health and address inequities in new
