Health care providers are well-aware that poor oral health is linked to diabetes, adverse pregnancy outcomes, heart disease, childhood illnesses, even lost school and work hours — yet, oral health is an isolated, and often too neglected, part of health care. The Virginia Oral Health Coalition (VaOHC) seeks to support clinicians who wish to deepen their leadership and partnership skills while exploring how health care teams can work together to incorporate oral health into their patient-centered care.
To that end, VaOHC is pleased to announce we have partnered with the Medical Society of Virginia (MSV) Foundation to offer scholarship funding to two teams of medical and dental providers who wish to take a deeper dive into oral health integration. VaOHC will award each team with $2,500 toward participation in MSV’s dynamic evolve™ program, which is designed to provide clinical teams with the leadership, business and innovation skills needed to be successful and sustainable in today's changing health care environment. Click here to learn more about the evolve™ program requirements. This is an excellent opportunity to participate in a cutting-edge leadership program while honing your skills in patient-centered health care.
To be eligible for the VaOHC scholarship, a team must be comprised of at least one dentist and one physician or nurse (maximum team size is three). Note: The total program cost is $5,000 or $2,500 for MSV and Virginia Nurses Association members.
Interested applicants: please download an application form and email it to Sarah Bedard Holland by Friday, August 29.
