Special Needs Require Special Care
Learning Opportunities
Getting dental care for individuals with special health care needs can be stressful for caregivers. It may be difficult to find a provider able address their needs, and Virginia's Medicaid program only covers extractions for adults with disabilities. Across Virginia, patients, families, caregivers, and providers are finding ways to work together to ensure oral health needs are being met.
Virginia Health Catalyst partners with experts and community leaders to provide trainings for caregivers and providers on oral health care for patients with special health care needs. View our event calendar to find the next training near you, and read our training FAQ's here.
We provide education on dental care and coverage for pregnant women. View our event calendar for upcoming events, or contact us to learn more.
