The Water Equity in Rural Virginia Workgroup is a small group of water research and policy experts looking at the unique experiences of rural Virginian's regarding water access and use, and how lack of access/use affects their lives.
Mission
The Water Equity in Rural Virginia Workgroup’s mission is to better understand water use/avoidance through research that identifies water coping behaviors in rural Virginia communities, by looking at the implications of drinking water quality and public perceptions of water quality.
The Water Equity in Rural Virginia Workgroup is focusing on water access and perceptions in rural areas of Virginia. This group meets every six weeks with the goal of better understanding water use and avoidance for rural Virginians and developing programs and partnerships to address these challenges.
Membership Committment
The Water Equity in Rural Virginia Workgroup meets every 6 weeks and recieve regular email notices with relevant resources and information. Meetings consist of workplan development and check-in's, input from expert guest speakers, and group discussion to identify action steps to reach the workgroup's goal.
