About Tashfia

Tashfia Hasan (she/her) is a second-generation Bangladeshi-American. Her work and research have focused on the racial wealth and debt gaps that are pervasive in the United States but always with attention to the interconnected nature of societal issues.

Previously, she served with AmeriCorps VISTA in Spartanburg, SC, and worked at United Way of Harrisonburg and Rockingham County, United Way Worldwide, and The Aspen Institute’s Financial Security Program. Tashfia earned a Bachelor of Arts in Holistic Psychology from Lesley University and a Master of Public Policy from American University.

Though she is originally a proud New Englander, Tashfia is based in Washington, D.C. Tashfia currently serves as Policy Director at the National Asian Pacific American Women's Forum (NAPAWF)
