Erica Ponder serves as the Community Engagement Manager for Virginia Health Catalyst. In this role, she leads all of Virginia Health Catalyst’s community engagement initiatives focused on equity, policy change, public health, community and clinical care, and public awareness. Erica engages community members to inform and shape Catalyst’s work, specifically policy change and advocacy related to water equity and the public oral health system.
Prior to joining Catalyst, Erica was a Community Health Worker in the Richmond area for four years. She is a proud graduate of James Madison University where she attained a Bachelor of Science in Communication Studies. In 2016, she earned her Master’s in Public Health from Capella University. Erica possesses over 10 years of client-focused and community advocacy experience with an understanding of the importance of removing barriers and providing equitable access to comprehensive healthcare.
In her spare time, Erica enjoys watching Netflix documentaries, shopping at thrift stores, and singing as loud as she can at concerts.
