Virginia’s 2022 legislative session is January 12, 2022 – March 12, 2022. This 60-day period is considered a long session; every even year (2022, 2024, etc.) has a long session. Every odd year (2021, 2023, etc.) has a short session of only 30 days. The 2022 session will focus in part on a new state budget.

2022 Legislative Session Priorities

Increase Reimbursement Rates

Catalyst is partnering with the Virginia Dental Association to advocate for increased Medicaid reimbursement rates for dentists to more closely reflect private insurance reimbursement rates. The Medicaid dental program has not raised rates in over sixteen years. Check back for updated information.

If you have feedback or personal stories about Medicaid reimbursement rates or the new adult dental benefit, please fill out this form.

Funding for the Office of Drinking Water

Safe, affordable, and trusted water is vital for health. Virginia has some of the safest water in the nation, a big part of which is due of the incredible work at the Office of Drinking Water (ODW) within the Virginia Dept. of Health. Catalyst will work with partners to ensure ODW has the resources it needs for water testing, infrastructure development, and outreach.
